LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) – A new entertainment venue made from shipping containers is ready to open in Lake City.
The Woods will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday with live music, a football watch party, a Florida vintage market pop-up, and games. The event will also feature performances from Fifth Harmony’s Dinah Jane and Laugh Factory comedian Lawrence Johnson.
During the first week, The Woods will host themed roller skating nights and pickleball tournaments.
Owners Mike Woods and Chantelle Lee say they were inspired to give back to Lake City to use this space as a cultural playground.
“The Woods is an experience venue at its core,” said Lee. “It encompasses everything from music to pickleball, to skating, to entertainment of all kinds of art.”
The grand opening event will start at noon, and entry is free with an RSVP. The facility is located at 149 SW Woolsey Gln, Lake City, FL 32024.
