HOLLYWOOD, CA — Since its completion in 1961 — when visitors began walking on the original 1,558 stars on Tinseltown’s sidewalks — the Hollywood Walk of Fame has added over 1,000 new stars.

This year included some major milestones: actress Lisa Lu became the oldest person to be awarded a star at age 98. Two posthumous stars were awarded: to the late Marvel star Chadwick Boseman and playwright August Wilson.

They joined the likes of Mindy Kaling, Billie Jean King, Trisha Yearwood and many others who received stars on the walk of fame. The most recent star, for Courtney B. Vance, marked the 2,831stplaque installed in the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and surrounding streets.

Mindy Kaling

Television
6533 Hollywood Blvd.

“I’m Hindu and we practice cremation, which is a beautiful tradition that my ancestors have done for thousands of years and so will I. But also, I’m obsessed with legacy, so sometimes I get disappointed that I won’t have a grave,” Kaling said at her ceremony, NBC News reported. “But this, this is so much better than a grave.”

Lili Estefan and Raúl De Molina

Television
7076 Hollywood Boulevard

“I never in my life thought I was going to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and look now. Today, we have one,” De Molina said, ABC 7 reported. “I came to L.A. for the first time when I was 20-years-old, they brought me to the Chinese Theatre.”

Christina Ricci

Motion Pictures
6258 Hollywood Blvd.

“This really means so much to me, I have to say,” Ricci said, ABC News reported. “From the moment I started acting, I knew it was meant to be. I just felt like I was finally doing the right thing, and I was only 7. And then, from the moment I stepped on a film set, I knew I was home.”

Trisha Yearwood

Recording
1750 N. Vine St., in front of Capitol Records

Her husband, Garth Brooks, “has really been a cheerleader and, who, as many accolades and awards as he has won, I never see him get more excited than he does when I receive something,” Yearwood said, the Today show reported. “And for all the people that want this for me, nobody wants it more than you. And I just appreciate you for being my support.”

Gal Gadot

Motion Pictures
6840 Hollywood Blvd., adjacent to the El Capitan Theatre

“I’m just a girl from a town in Israel … and I could never imagine such (a) moment. I never dreamed of becoming an actress, and I never knew these things are possible,” Gadot said.

John Carpenter

Motion Pictures
7000 Hollywood Blvd., in front of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

“In 1968, I was a skinny kid from Bowling Green, Kentucky, walking these streets. I was looking for a career in Hollywood. Well, I found my career, and today I have found Hollywood.“ Carpenter said, Fangoria reported.“Thank you so much to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for this place on this sacred boulevard where people and dogs can pee on me at any time.”

Billie Jean King

Sports Entertainment
6284 Hollywood Blvd., adjacent to the W Hotel

“Some of my favorite memories were seeing the real Hollywood stars that just hung out down the road at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, Beverly Hills Tennis Club and others in the area — stars like Lucille Ball, Gilbert Roland and Doris Day. They were regulars and we saw them often — can you imagine my life as a junior tennis layer? Amazing,” King said. “Now you’re kind enough to give me a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just like them.”

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Television
6623 Hollywood Blvd.

“I’m not just part of the fabric that is Hollywood, I’m part of the cemented foundation that is Hollywood,” Ralph said, ABC News reported.

Ellen Pompeo

Television
6533 Hollywood Blvd.

“This doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen easily,” Pompeo said, ABC News reported. “It takes a village. I have been so lucky to be surrounded by a lot of stars who do their thing everyday and who do it brilliantly in this town.”

Green Day

Recording

Lisa Lu

Motion Pictures
1708 Vine St., near Hollywood & Vine

“Throughout my long journey, I declined the honor of a star in 1960 — I could not bear the thought of anyone walking on my name. Today, at 98 years old, I embrace the star as a testament to resilience and perseverance,” Lu said, according to the Golden Globe Foundation. “I am deeply honored to stand in support of the next generation of rising Asian actors, whose paths I hope will shine even brighter.”

Michael Schur

Television

“This is truly a surprising moment in my life,” Schur said, Spectrum News 1 reported. “To be honest, I was not aware that this was an honor that a writer could receive. Ricky Gervais

Television
1628 Vine St.

“This is pretty crazy and humbling,” Gervais said, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. “… I have a strange mix of ‘nothing good ever happens’ and ‘if it does, I don’t deserve it, or I can’t be as good as I thought I was.’ I’m also not very good at taking things too seriously, that’s sort of my job. … I’m going to try to be serious for a minute. Thank you so much for this honor. It’s a genuine thrill to be part of such an exclusive club.”

Share the song that you love with War around the world.”

Christian Slater

Television
6201 Hollywood Blvd., in front of Eastown

Did you get this job on your own?”‘ Wallace said, Fox 11 reported. “And it was something that I had to deal with. But by the end of his life we had become best friends. And now I find that whenever his name is mentioned, instead of it having mixed feelings, I actually feel delighted that people still remember my father. Which is just an indication that 25 years of intense therapy is not a waste of time and money.”

Bill Nye

Naomi Watts

Motion Pictures
6201 Hollywood Blvd.

“I’m out of my body right now, but I do think later I will look back on this moment, even tonight, and feel immense pride and excitement. You know, there was all that going into it, it’s just surreal at the same time. But yeah, a lot of hard work, and you know, resilience,” Watts said, ABC 7 reported. “I nearly quit many times. I just didn’t know what else to do or what I was qualified to do, and I love acting. It’s a privilege to get to tell stories.”

Robert Englund

Sarah Paulson

Television
6533 Hollywood Blvd.

“I know some folks lucky enough to receive this honor often talk about the first time they stood on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. When thinking about this, I realized my connection was not from real-life experience, but rather from the movies themselves. One particular movie, ‘Pretty Woman’,” she said, Forbes reported. “It took me too long to understand that Julia Roberts landed in our hearts because she was so unabashedly herself. I was dreaming of a working journey that mimicked Julia Roberts; I couldn’t see the road. I was already traveling a road uniquely mine.”
