Laborfest
The 2025 Laborfest celebration in Milwaukee runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1 at Maier Festival Park. The annual parade starts at 11 a.m. in Zeidler Union Square and ends at the Summerfest grounds, where there’ll be live music, children’s activities, a classic car show and more. Admission is free. Wisconsin Highland Games
Get your fill of battle-ax-throwing, Celtic music, longbow competitions and, of course, haggis at the Wisconsin Highland Games at the Waukesha County Expo Center, 1000 Northview Road, Waukesha. Opening ceremonies are 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 29, with free admission. The games are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 30 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 31. Third Ward Art Festival
A Labor Day weekend staple, the Third Ward Art Festival will bring about 200 juried artists to North Broadway from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 30-31. Food, two live music stages and interactive kids’ activities are also in the mix. Admission is free. Info: amdurproductions.com.
Urban Bird Hike at Lakeshore State Park

Cream City Clash at Bavarian Bierhaus
Check out medieval-style armored tournament battles — they call them melees — at the third annual Cream City Clash at Bavarian Bierhaus, 700 W. Lexington Blvd., Glendale. Cream City Convergence at Baird Center
Cream City Convergence brings together fans and players of fighting games such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 for a day of “culture and competition” at the Baird Center starting at 8 a.m. Aug. 30.
