OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Here’s a list of activities and events coming up in the Omaha metro this weekend.
The Joslyn Art Museum in downtown Omaha is offering free events throughout the weekend. From 1-2 p.m. Friday, gallery volunteers will give a conversational “Meet the Joslyn” tour. To explore your artistic side as we enter the new year, try out the “Healthy Start with Art” event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Activities include a story time from Omaha Public Library, yoga flow, creating your own art, and drop-in sketching. There will be tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. You can visit the Joslyn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to see the space on your own time.
Celebrate the beginning of 2026 by listening to local live music. Hear new and original music of soul, pop, and R&B by one of Omaha’s award winning bands. “Parfait” will be at the Harney Street Tavern at 9:15 p.m. Friday and at Cattle Call at 10 p.m. Saturday. “Bad Habitz” will be at the Island Bar and Grill in La Vista starting at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Tony LaMar will be at Vino Mas Wine Bar’s Legacy location in West Omaha starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. His influences include Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, and more. Check out a 5-piece jazz combo with Luigi, Inc. at Mr. Toads in the Old Market at 9 p.m. Sunday.
Another great way to start off the new year is by supporting local businesses at the Winter Farmer’s Market at the Fowling Warehouse in Omaha. The fun will happen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday through March. The indoor market series is centered around small businesses, with “over 50 rotating local vendors & food trucks,” according to the event’s Facebook page. Also at the event will be a full bar, kids crafts, and family games. Be on the lookout for live music and cooking demos featured. You can visit their website if you would like to sign up to be a vendor.
