This Celeb-Loved, Science-Backed Formula Was the Only One That Helped My Baby’s Reflux

Nara Organics

Before giving birth to my son last year, I made a pact with myself: if breastfeeding didn’t work out, I wouldn’t stress or spiral over it — fed is best, and plenty of successful people (like myself and even Michelle Obama!) drank formula. Still, I felt a pang of guilt breaking out those cans — even after weeks of struggling with supply, hiring a lactation consultant, pumping every few hours and trying to wrangle a very fussy, extremely impatient baby.

Despite doing plenty of research, the influencer-approved option I chose didn’t agree with my newborn. He suffered from silent reflux, and after weeks of slowly swapping in and out different formulas with guidance from my pediatrician (Gentle! Goat’s milk! Something European I paid big bucks for, which gave me anxiety over its very complicated mixing directions!), I felt like I was losing my mind. And then, I decided to try Nara Organics.

To be honest, I was initially intrigued by the hype I’d seen from celebrities like the Foster sisters (of Favorite Daughter and Nobody Wants This fame), Gabrielle Union and Nicky Hilton — which is ironic, since Nara has spent zero dollars on celebrity marketing. But what kept me hooked (and even turned me into a subscriber) was how well my son took to Nara. His reflux disappeared, and he seemed much calmer and happier. I was, too, especially since the product isn’t just new and flashy — it took almost seven years for its founder, Esther Hallam, to develop it.

Hallam created the formula alongside scientists and pediatricians, and the patent-pending formulation contains the most organic whole milk in the U.S. Even before development, Nara had to submit a GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) application to the FDA — something that had never even existed before and set a new standard. In addition to meeting those strict FDA requirements, the product is produced in Germany. That means that it’s also regulated by the EU for a true double whammy.

Those seven years of development didn’t come without extensive testing, either. While many formula brands skip the toughest trials, Nara went all in, conducting an independent, double-blind trial with 176 babies over 12+ months. It’s just another factor that makes moms like me breathe a little easier with each bottle.

“First of all, my baby had to use formula since the very beginning due to my milk coming in slowly after a C-section, but when I realized that breastfeeding was exacerbating my postpartum anxiety and depression, we decided to go fully formula feeding,” one happy customer wrote in a review. “Using Nara helped me feel as good as I could about that because I felt we were giving my boy the best formula out there. He is only 11.5 weeks old now and is a big, strong boy, bigger than his 5-month-old cousin! He’s had zero digestive issues, dirty diapers at least once a day and basically no gassy fussing ever! Plus, I just feel so much better knowing that Nara meets US AND European standards.”

Another person noted that they loved “the clean ingredients.”

“This works great for my baby,” they said. “I’m glad to know he is getting better ingredients that are healthy for his development. Thank you!”

Although I mostly use my Baby Brezza formula dispenser, I will say another perk of this formula is that it mixes easily. Each can includes a tiny scoop, and you don’t need to do any extra math to figure out how much powder to put in. If you need a 2 oz. bottle, it’s 2 oz. of water and two scoops, while a 4 oz. bottle is 4 oz. of water and four scoops (and so on).

My baby is turning one in May, and while it’ll be nice to have him drink regular old cow’s milk, I’ll genuinely miss my Nara Organics shipments, which come every four weeks. Trust, if I have another child, I’ll be a repeat customer, but if you haven’t tried the formula and want to give your little one the best of the best, you can save 30% with the code SHOPNARA30 from now through May 31.
