Ever since the release of Heated Rivalry, Hudson Williams (AKA Shane Hollander) has remained booked and busy. So far, he’s carried an Olympic torch, sat front row at an Armani fashion show, walked the runway at DSquared2, co-hosted a Gold House Lunar New Year party, made an SNL cameo, and even hit the stage at the Golden Globe Awards alongside his costar, Connor Storrie. And while it’s been a wonder as to when he’s gotten any rest, it was even more surprising when Williams was absent from the 37th annual GLAAD Media Awards last night, where his fellow castmates, including Storrie, François Arnaud, Robbie Graham-Kuntz, Nadine Bhabha, and Christina Chang, were all in attendance.
While it’s unclear where exactly Williams was, it’s possible that he was filming for his forthcoming mystery series, Yaga, which is currently in production in Canada. Still, it turns out that Williams tried to be at the show, but his (unbelievably busy) schedule just didn’t allow it. As he explained to a fan on Threads: “😭 I tried very hard to be there but it was not possible.”
However, after Heated Rivalry was awarded the prize for Outstanding New TV Series at the ceremony, Williams celebrated the moment by sharing a clip to his Instagram Story of creator Jacob Tierney giving his acceptance speech, supported by the cast who stood behind him. Underneath the video, Williams wrote: “thanks @glaad 🥹 🦄.”
If we know Williams, he was probably hard at work on some secret project as the ceremony was taking place. But for his sake, let’s hope he was actually just getting some shut-eye.
