A mortician has taken to social media to shut down rumors surrounding Charlie Kirk’s death.
Charlie, 31, died on Wednesday after he was shot in the neck during a student rally at Utah Valley University. He was killed in what officials are calling a “targeted attack”, with the assailant still being at large.
However, since Charlie’s sudden death, many people have taken to social media to question whether he is actually deceased. This is something TikToker and funeral director, Lauren the Mortician, took an issue with, deciding to shut down the rumors once and for all.
Lauren, who has 2.8 million followers on TikTok, often speaks about causes of death and funeral arrangements on her channel in an attempt to destigmatise dying. And on Thursday, she shared a video shutting down rumors about Charlie Kirk’s demise.
Speaking to her followers, Lauren explained that Charlie could not still be alive due to where he was shot. In a tragic video that has been circulating online, Charlie can be seen being shot in the neck, with blood quickly pouring from the wound as he slumps over.
Lauren said that it’s clear he was shot in his carotid artery, severing it, and leading him to bleed out in seconds. The TikToker also claimed that Charlie would not have been alive when he was transported to the hospital.
“A shot to the carotid artery is as close to instantaneous as it gets,” Lauren said. “That artery is the main supply of blood to the brain. The second it’s severed, pressure drops, blood pours, and the brain is deprived of oxygen.”
Continuing, Lauren further explained that there is “no fighting” an injury like this, and he wouldn’t have been able to process what happened to him. Something she says is the only “mercy” in this tragic case.
Talking about the viral footage of Charlie’s death, Lauren told her followers that when it’s slowed down, you can see the impact directly to the side of his neck. “The force of that hit wasn’t just surface level; it tore through tissue, severed the artery, and from the way his body reacts, the immediate collapse, the way the blood pours, I believe it caused internal catastrophic trauma,” the mortician said.

Lauren also noted that the reason he “slumped over in his chair” was due to the brain’s connection to the rest of the body being cut off.
Responding to mentions in the media that he was pronounced dead at the hospital, Lauren explained that “he was already gone on the ground,” adding, “If there was even a flicker of life in him, it was seconds.”
Numerous people commented on Lauren’s video, thanking her for the explanation and sending their condolences to Charlie’s family.
One person wrote, “This is our generation’s JFK,” whilst another added, “When I saw the video, I knew he died almost instantly. He was probably dead when they loaded him into the car as well. I think that they tried so hard and moved so fast to get him to the hospital that it gave people hope. Sad and tragic.”
A third social media user also chimed in on the conversation, penning, “I agree with you, I said this is instant with the carotid and no saving. The only reason he wasn’t pronounced dead at the scene was that they needed a medical professional to do so.”
