Nearly three decades in, country music’s royal couple has still got it.
Singers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, who married in October 1996, celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on Monday, Oct. 6. In honor of the romantic milestone, McGraw paid tribute to his longtime wife in a sweet Instagram post.
“29 years ago, on this day Oct. 6, 1996, I was on cloud 9!” wrote McGraw alongside a PDA-filled photo of the couple. “I was marrying the girl of my dreams, she was everything, my complete soulmate!”
McGraw and Hill, both 58, first met backstage at the 1994 CRS New Faces show before going on McGraw’s Spontaneous Combustion tour together in 1996. The pair tied the knot two years after their musical meet-cute and went on to have three daughters: Gracie, 28; Maggie, 27; and Audrey, 24.
“We have been through so much together,” McGraw continued. “Our girls growing up, me trying to grow up, and you, you, you, always there, always there for all of us when we fell, always you when we triumphed, always you.”
He concluded: “When we love, when we live, when we think of how to love, live and dream, always you. You are my girl. I love you with a fire that grows each passing year.”

How Faith Hill helped Tim McGraw get sober
In an August 2021 interview with Esquire, McGraw opened up about how Hill supported him in his sobriety journey.
“I remember a moment when I was getting out of bed and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8 in the morning and thinking, ‘I have to wake the kids up,'” McGraw told the magazine. “I went straight to my wife and said, ‘This is where I’m at.’ I was scared.”
McGraw recalled how in response, Hill “just grabbed me and hugged me and that changed my life,” adding that this moment showed him that “love could feel so good.”
“Was it an emotion? Was it a lifestyle? Was it an imaginary thing? But love is all of those things,” McGraw reflected. “Love is getting in each other’s face. Love is accepting that I’m wrong. Love is a 360-degree thing. It’s not linear.”
