The year 2025 has proved monumental for American Vogue. Back in June, the long-serving Anna Wintour announced she was stepping down as editor-in-chief, following a 37-year stint. Over recent months, rounding out her tenure, Wintour has welcomed back Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Gigi Hadid, and Nicole Kidman as cover stars. For what is reportedly Wintour’s final issue, the fashion icon welcomes Timothée Chalamet onto the cover of Vogue magazine for December 2025. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz and styled by Eric McNeal, the American-French actor strikes a pose as a Vogue cover star in a total look from Michael Rider’s debut Spring 2026 Celine collection.

“Speechless. Someone needs to sit Annie down and have a long and difficult conversation with her, because it’s getting sad at this point,” shared WinstonH20.
“I don’t have the strength to explain to Annie why this cover is garbage,” Bertrando3 chimed in.
WilliamsLe010919 noted: “Looks like it was done by a kid who just discovered Photoshop!”
“I’m disgusted,” shreiked forum member MDNA.
“I’m speechless, in the worst possible way! Not even L’Officiel would publish something so low-budget,” critiqued aguires.
“Probably the worst cover in the history of Vogue,” declared mepps.
“Abysmal. What an absolute eyesore of a cover. I’d even go as far as to say this is the worst cover American Vogue has ever published. I am absolutely dumbfounded,” voiced vogue28.
