The TV host has been married to Deborah Roberts since 1995, and Al loves to talk about their romance on the Today show. But recently, he shared something quite surprising.
After fellow news anchor Laura Jarrett opened a discussion about proper protocol for riding shotgun, Al admitted he has a major rule—and he makes sure Deborah knows it, too.
“When Deborah rides shotgun, and she’ll doze off, I’ll just slam on the brakes, just to wake her up!” he teased in a clip posted on Instagram. “[Meanwhile] I’m watching Waze and telling her where the police are.”
As soon as fans learned of Al’s hilarious way of making sure Deborah is awake during car rides, they shared their opinions about it on social media.
“Heaven forbid someone finds a moment of rest and feels their nervous system can relax for a moment in your presence. 🥹,” one person jested. “Al Roker is a treasure that needs protecting at all costs (esp from his wife),” another penned. “Oh my gosh @debrobertsabc!
