Tom Brady didn’t issue a formal statement after news broke that his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen just married Joaquim Valente — but his Instagram Story did a lot of the talking.
On Dec. 20, the former NFL quarterback posted a quick car selfie to his Instagram Stories. He wore a white hoodie that read “Forever Young” and added, “Yupppppp 💯” over the image. The Fox Sports Announcer set the post to Logic’s 2017 song “1-800-273-8255,” a track named after the former National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number before it became 988. Brady’s Story went up less than after reports that Bündchen had married jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in Surfside, Florida, on Dec. 3.
For those who don’t know, Bündchen and Valente met through her jiu-jitsu training and have been together for several years now. They welcomed a baby boy in February 2025 and are raising him alongside the two kids she shares with Brady: son Benjamin and daughter Vivian. Brady is also dad to son Jack from his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
Brady has reacted to Bündchen’s love life post-divorce before. When news of her surprise pregnancy with Valente surfaced in October 2024, a source told Us Weekly that Brady was initially “shocked” but “ultimately happy” for his ex and “knows Gisele is a great mom and was destined to be a mom.”
Bündchen has also been clear about the timeline of her relationship. In a March 2024 interview with The New York Times, she called cheating rumors “a lie” and said many women are “blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” noting that the dynamic can be amplified in the public eye.
Brady, meanwhile, has spent the last few years talking more about fatherhood. In an August newsletter that drew fresh attention to their long-rumored football-related tension, he wrote that “part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family,” linking his long NFL hours to work ethic and commitment. Bündchen previously called the idea that she pushed him to retire “very hurtful” and “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard” in a 2023 Vanity Fair cover story.
Most recently, reports have suggested that Brady may still be quietly reconnecting with model Irina Shayk after their on-and-off romance, with sightings placing them in Hawaii at the same time in early December. Taken together, his “Forever Young” hoodie, his past comments on co-parenting and his ex-wife’s remarriage all land as the latest chapter in a very public post-divorce reset.
