Glen Powell reveals how he was able to tackle a “dangerous” stunt in his new film, thanks to Tom Cruise. Notably, Powell and Cruise became close friends on the sets of their film Top Gun: Maverick. In fact, the 63-year-old megastar also attended the premiere of his upcoming film, The Running Man.

Glen Powell reveals the ‘most dangerous’ stunt he had to do in The Running Man

Glen Powell dishes on doing the “most dangerous” stunt for his new movie, The Running Man. He also has his friend and mentor, Tom Cruise, to thank for that.

According to an article by USA Today, there is a crucial scene in the film when two cars are speeding at each other. Powell, who plays Ben Richards in the movie, jumps off a bridge and hangs on the side of a building.

To get this “dangerous” stunt right, Powell turned to longtime friend and mentor Cruise for advice. He revealed, “I mean, Tom has had his fair share of those. The one thing he told me is the most dangerous thing that you’re not going to expect is running at night.”

According to Powell, Tom told him, “They’re always going to push the sprinting stuff to the end of the night.” And true to the film title and Cruise’s prediction, some of the toughest action scenes required a lot of running.

The 37-year-old was required to sprint across wet cobblestones or a graveyard soaked in smoke in pitch darkness. Continuing further, Powell remarked, “I was always like, ‘Hey, guys, can we push that like a little bit earlier in the night?’ Every single time, 5 in the morning, just before sunrise.” He also thanked the Mission: Impossible star for his generous advice.

The Running Man star quipped, “But we survived it. I thank TC for the advice, for sure.”

On November 7, Tom Cruise attended a special screening of The Running Man and shared pictures with Glen Powell and the cast on his Instagram. He captioned the photo, “Another great night out with my friends at the movies! You guys crushed it, congratulations! I laughed, was on the edge of my seat, and ate way too much popcorn.” The Running Man will hit cinemas on November 7.
