Tom Holland has suffered a concussion on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, causing filming to halt.
On Friday, September 19, 2025, Tom Holland was reportedly rushed to a hospital near the movie’s set after a stunt went wrong while filming. The actor hit his head, suffering a concussion. British tabloid The Sun was first to break the news, which has since been confirmed by multiple industry publications, including Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter, among others.
Holland was reportedly transported to the hospital in an ambulance and was released shortly after receiving treatment. Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, slated for a July 2026 release, was suspended on Friday and will be on hold for the time being, “out of precaution,” Deadline has learned.
Filming is expected to resume in a matter of days, with execs from Marvel and Sony, who produce the film in tandem, reportedly meeting today, September 22, to discuss the new production schedule.
Per The Sun, Holland’s father, Dominic Holland, confirmed his son would be out of filming “for a while” at a Posh Pub Quiz event with The Brothers Trust on September 20, 2025. Tom Holland was in attendance at the event with fiancée Zendaya, but reportedly left early after feeling unwell.
Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in location in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 1, 2025. The production is also reportedly filming in London and at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom. It’s unclear if Holland’s mild injury will affect the release date for the movie. The release date has already been pushed back once from its originally intended July 24, 2026, date.
