THE RUNDOWN
- Tom Holland revealed he and Zendaya secretly got married while addressing the fake AI wedding photos that came out in an Esquire UK interview.
- He told the outlet that they didn’t need to contact any family about the images “because they were all there [at the real wedding].”
- Zendaya first sparked marriage rumors in February 2026.
Zendaya and Tom Holland really did secretly tie the knot. In his interview with Esquire UK, Holland confirmed the news. He had been discussing the fake AI wedding photos that went viral in March and how his grandmother had reached out to him about them. The reporter asked whether he had to have similar conversations with other family members.
The actor paused, then responded, “No, because they were all there.” He confirmed the wedding had already happened, telling the outlet, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
He was much more forthcoming in his praise of Zendaya, calling her his best friend and person.
“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he explained. “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else. So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period. Maybe when I was young with my parents and my dad was picking me up from school. Not to say that our relationship is like my mom and dad.”
Holland’s confirmation comes months after the actress’s longtime stylist Law Roach sparked marriage rumors at the Actor Awards in March, telling Access Hollywood, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.”
When pressed whether that was true by the outlet’s reporter, he laughed and replied, “It’s very true.”
Zendaya has been wearing a gold band since February but told ELLE in her Summer 2026 cover interview that she wouldn’t confirm marriage rumors. “No, I’m not going to do that,” she said. “They’re [the internet is] always searching for something.”
The actress revealed her engagement to Holland in January 2025 when she wore her east-west diamond engagement ring at the Golden Globes. In 2026, she first sparked wedding rumors when she was photographed on February 17, wearing a gold band on her left ring finger in Beverly Hills.
Roach told Complex in May 2025 that Zendaya and Holland would keep their wedding secret. “She and Tom are super private about their relationship,” he explained. “They’re trying to be as private as possible. There won’t be a Vogue spread or there won’t be pictures of the wedding and the people who she will invite will be really respectful of their privacy, so it will be a really beautiful dress that no one gets to see.”
In late December 2025, Zendaya spoke to her The Drama co-star Robert Pattinson for Interview about why she protects her private life, explaining it’s partly for herself and for her career.
“Something I admire about you is you keep so much of your life to yourself, which is a beautiful thing, especially having a family,” she began, referencing Pattinson and his partner Suki Waterhouse’s daughter. “I’m learning how to balance those things. At the end of the day, you’re a public figure, there’s nothing you can do, but some things are meant for yourself and for your loved ones, and then also allowing for that space between the anonymity of you, so that you can play someone else and they won’t necessarily always put you in—I mean, we just talked about being eloquent. Here I am stumbling over my words, trying to explain what I’m trying to say. But I do try to have privacy, not just for characters, but for me in real life. I try to be honest to who I am when I am in public, but I also try to keep things for myself.”
Holland and Zendaya have over a decade of history, though, and have been dating since 2021. At times, they have shared public tributes to each other, and both have described their relationship as “sacred” in interviews.
In June 2023, Holland told The Hollywood Reporter, “Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”
