Top Shows To Stream Right Now Besides ‘Absentia’

The mystery thriller, which concluded in 2020, centers on Special Agent Emily Byrne (Stana Katic), who vanishes without a trace while on the hunt for a notorious serial killer. Six years after being declared dead from her disappearance, the FBI agent resurfaces to reclaim her family, identity and clear her name as the prime suspect implicated in a string of new murders.

The ensemble cast of “Absentia” also includes Neil Jackson, Natasha Little, Paul Freeman, Patrick McAuley and Christopher Colquhoun.

“Absentia” originally aired on Prime Video and ran for three seasons before it came to an end. Series lead Katic announced the news in a 2021 Instagram post that read, “Three Seasons was the perfect amount of space for a beautiful, complicated and wonderfully fulfilling journey. We took our protagonist on the path of victim to survivor to … empowered architect of her own future.”

She added: “And although we’ve danced with the idea of continuing the tale, ‘ABSENTIA’ was always meant to be only 3 seasons, & I couldn’t think of a better note to end on.”

“A Man on the Inside” is another series currently trending among the top shows on Netflix.

The streamer’s original comedy stars Ten Danson as Charles, a retired professor who gets a new lease on life when he’s hired to go undercover as an amateur private investigator. In Season 2, which premiered Nov. 20, Charles takes a case at his daughter’s alma mater, where he’s tasked with uncovering a laptop containing $400 million worth of information.

The show also stars Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, Stephanie Beatriz and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

“Fallout” is currently the No. 1 show on Prime Video.

Based on the post-apocalyptic video game, the series is set in a future Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, where “the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them,” per the synopsis.

The 17-time Emmy-nominated series returns for its second season on Dec. 17, which will pick up in the aftermath of Season 1’s events and head to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.

The cast includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias and Frances Turner.

“Power Book IV: Force” is also a top 10 trending show on Prime Video right now.

The “Power” spinoff, a Starz original, follows Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) in his post-New York era as he rewrites the rules of the streets to now become the biggest drug dealer in Chicago. In the show’s third and final season, which kicked off on Nov. 7, Tommy’s relentless pursuit of kingpin status comes at a high cost as pressure mounts from all over, including his business partner, rival crews and the feds.

The series also stars Isaac Keys, Kris D. Lofton, Manuel Eduardo Ramirez, Carmela Zumbado, Adrienne Walker, Shane Harper, Miriam A. Hyman, Anthony Fleming III and Lucien Cambric.

“Stumble” is one of the top shows on Peacock right now.

The mockumentary-style NBC comedy follows a cheerleading coach (Jenn Lyon) who starts from the ground up at a new school, hoping to build a solid cheer squad with championship ambitions — but they have a lot of work ahead of them.

The show also stars Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar, Georgie Murphy and Kristin Chenoweth.
