Toy Story 5′s primary cast members were as unaware as the fans of the franchise about many things in the movie, including a song by Taylor Swift. The iconic pop star made an original song, I Knew It, I Knew You, exclusively for the film. But even top cast members like Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were unaware of Swift working in the film.
In a recent sitdown with ET, Hanks admitted that they found out about Taylor Swift working on the film just hours ago. “We found out about Miss Swift about three hours ago,” Hanks admitted. “Top secret. There was a huge amount of movie that we do not see until they decide to show it to us,” the veteran actor added, “during our recording sessions.”
Hanks further added that they did not even utter the word “Taylor Swift” to them. “We did not know anything,” he emphasized.
This new single by Taylor Swift was released on June 5, 2026, through Walt Disney Records and was promoted to US country and pop radio formats. The song broke various streaming records upon its release.
Toy Story 5 is set to have its world premiere in Los Angeles on June 9, 2026, followed by its theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
