Trivium have announced their first new material in four years, in the form of a new EP.

Today (August 7), the Orlando metal band shared the heavy new single ‘Bury Me With My Screams’ after weeks of teasing it on social media. The track marks their first release since the 2021 album ‘In The Court Of The Dragon’.

Following the release of the single, Trivium confirmed that they are due to release a new EP titled ‘Struck Dead’ on Halloween day (October 31). It will reportedly include three songs – one of which is ‘Bury Me With My Screams’. You can pre-order your copy here.

The band have also shared a music video for ‘Bury Me With My Screams’, which they filmed in their studio, The Hangar. The clip sees them building the studio in an airplane hangar that they purchased several years ago to set up their headquarters.

‘Bury Me With My Screams’ includes blistering riffs, harsh screams and pummelling drums – check it out below.

In 2023, the band confirmed that they would be taking a break as they had been touring and recording music non-stop for nearly two decades – at the time, they had no plans to record new music.

Earlier this year, Trivium returned to touring, co-leading a joint tour with Bullet For My Valentine – the two bands were celebrating the joint 20th anniversaries of their respective albums ‘The Poison’ and ‘Ascendancy’. As they were about to conclude the North American leg of their tour, before jetting off to Australia and South America, a number of shows were unexpectedly scrapped.

Details around the cancellations were unclear, although Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto soon said in a livestream that BFMV frontman Matt Tuck had pulled out of the tour early as he “didn’t want to do it”.

Trivium frontman Matt Heafy shared his account of what transpired, after Tuck said in a statement that BFMV were shifting their focus to working on a new album. “Sometimes plans change and sometimes that causes headaches and disagreements. It’s like with anything in life, it’s like a relationship [or] with your family [or] with co-workers. Let’s pull back on all that stuff and let’s keep it classy. Keep it friendly,” Heafy said.

Heafy then went on to reiterate that he has no hard feelings towards Tuck and co, saying: “This was the best co-headlining pair that I’ve ever seen in my life… It still can be a magical thing. That magic is not gone. Thank you so much to the Bullet band. I’ve been a fan of them since I was 18…  Let’s not drag any [negativity] back up, let’s end this on a positive note. I wish them all the best in the world and I can’t wait to buy their new record when it comes out.”
