Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced sharp criticism from GB News presenter Nana Akua regarding their treatment of King Charles in recent months.
During an appearance on GB News Mums following the couple’s decision to finally bring their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to their grandfather on Friday, July 10, she alleged they were exploiting their children as “bargaining chips” and characterized their behavior as “cruel.”
Speaking alongside fellow GB News presenters Emily Carver, Michelle Dewberry and Olivia Utley on GB News Mums, she stated, “I think they’re just totally selfish….They’re unkind. I think they’re quite cruel as well.” It comes after Harry and Meghan faced backlash from supporters after sources close to the couple revealed details of their confidential encounter with the King and Queen last week.
“If I’m totally honest, it’s very cruel to do that because all it does is affect the child.
“If you want the best for the child, then you should think about what’s in the child’s best interest. Not using the children as a way of sort of manipulating a situation or punishing someone.”

Her comments followed her assertion that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were leveraging the children to achieve their objectives. “I’m glad they’ve finally done it,” she said.
“But what I hate is when people use their children as bargaining chips, and in my view, that’s what they’ve done.
“Maybe they don’t think they have, but…they have used [the children] to try and get the security detail that Harry so much so continues to demand.
“They’ve used it as an ugly, ugly tool to manipulate and I think be slightly unkind to the grandparents. I mean, they’re really lucky that they have grandparents.”
She went on to say, “It was wrong of them to deny the children that opportunity because if I were their child and I got older, I’d be like, ‘Why didn’t you take me to meet them?’ That’s what I’d be really angry about.
“I feel for Meghan’s children as well that they aren’t going to get a chance to meet their side of the family.
“What’s going on with her and Thomas Markle? They have so much so-called empathy for veterans and anybody else supposedly who’s sick, but they have no empathy for their own family, which I find a little bit unbelievable.
“I don’t believe their empathy is genuine for anybody other than themselves,” she concluded.
