No shirt? No problem. At least that seemed to be Tyla’s mindset as she stepped out in Paris wearing a fully adhesive tattoo top that stuck directly onto her body.
Bringing new meaning to a second-skin feel, the South African artist’s torso and arms were covered with a snakeskin-print temporary tattoo by designer Simon Carle. Her back was completely bare (save for some body glitter), revealing the inner workings of the “garment.”
For a further look at how the piece functioned, the designer himself—who has also worked with Rosalía and Charli XCX—shared several process photos of his experimental design. In the images, a model was captured in various stages of undress as a similar “lace top” was removed from their body.
In the fashion capital, Tyla paired her tattoo with dark-wash Rock Revival hip huggers. The super low-rise jeans featured zipper detailing, and she left them unbuttoned. For an extra bit of oomph, she slipped her feet into Dsquared2’s Samurai sandals—brown open-toe platforms with gold and cobalt-blue embellishments, including laces that the artist tied around the ankles of her jeans.
Her nails matched the blue of her shoes, and she stepped out with a Valentino Garavani shoulder bag. The accessory was crafted from a patchwork of snakeskin and dark suede, in a chevron pattern. Feline heads with Swarovski crystals adorned the sides of the bag, from which a gold-and-leather chain was attached.
For jewelry, Tyla wore a gold Chanel pendant necklace and a small stack of simple, sparkly rings.
