A couple of weeks into its home video run, Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth is still a contender at the domestic box office. In fact, it continues to hold a spot on the top 10 charts, having grossed over $332 million so far. This weekend, however, the movie took the number nine spot domestically, as it was outperformed by an unlikely challenger: the Indian blockbuster Coolie. Starring one of Indian cinema’s biggest-ever movie stars, Rajinikanth, Coolie is a Tamil-language film that has been breaking records in its home country since its debut a few days ago.
Coolieclaimed the number eight spot on the domestic charts this weekend, having grossed $6.5 million so far from just 800 theaters. By comparison, Rebirth is now playing in 2,270 theaters.
