Local photographers launch new community darkroom
The Savannah Center for Photography opens June 26 featuring a community darkroom, gallery, and workshops for artists.
- The Historic Savannah Foundation is hosting a series of artisan workshops through the end of the year.
- Upcoming workshops include needle felting, indigo dyeing, and a six-week line dancing series.
- Other events in Savannah include live music, an R&B party, and an Independence Day celebration.
As part of the 2026 Artisan Spotlight Series, the Historic Savannah Foundation has announced additional hands-on, creative workshops at the Historic Kennedy Pharmacy through the rest of the year. The following workshops are available for June and July, all events at 323 E. Broughton St.:
Needle felting for the whole family: This two-hour, beginner friendly session guides participating through shaping and sculpting colorful wood fibers into delightful summer flowers.
1:30 p.m., June 27, $35 per family (1 child, 1 adult), additional children +$12
Indigo dyeing workshop: Participants will have the opportunity to work with prepared indigo vats, and will use a variety of resist techniques to create patterns on cotton scarves.
9 a.m., July 18, $70 person
Learn to line dance: Dust off your boots for an energetic, six-week line dancing series designed for all skill levels. These weekly 90-minute session will have you moving, grooving and socializing. These dances will culminate in an end-of-summer dance party on Aug.18.
5:30 p.m., July 14, $100 per person.
