SANDY, Utah – Three first-half goals helped the Utah Royals extend their unbeaten streak to six matches with a 3-0 win over Racing Louisville FC.
The Royals (4-11-6, 15 points) hosted Racing Louisville Football Club (7-9-5, 26 points) on Friday, September 19.

The game marked the 100th NWSL match for Kate Del Fava.
First Half
The Royals opened the night with some extra intensity as the season enters its final stretch.
13 minutes in, Mina Tanaka gave the home club a 1-0 lead.
Tanaka showed some incredible footwork, flicking the ball over a defender with her right foot, shifting her weight, and then blasting a left-footed missile past Jordyn Bloomer.

It was Tanaka’s third NWSL goal this season in 16 starts.
Utah doubled its lead in the 38th minute when Janni Thomsen scored off a set piece.
Thomsen took a pass near the top of the 18 and fired a worm-burner that slipped inside the left post.

Tanaka assisted on Thomsen’s first goal with Utah.
Cloé Lacasse gave the Royals a commanding 3-0 advantage in stoppage time. Lacasse blasted a ball from just inside the 18-yard box to give her squad a considerable lead.

The Royals took the 3-0 lead into the second half.
Second Half
Tanaka was shown a yellow in the 53rd minute.
Louisville’s Emma Sears earned a yellow four minutes later for a hard foul.

Minutes later, Sears scored to cut the lead to 3-1.
Louisville’s second goal came in the 81st minute when Janine Sonis scored to make it a 3-2 game in the final minutes.
Utah held on for the 3-2 win. It is the club’s third win in the past six matches.
