Variety reporters, photographers and designers scored 107 nominations for the Los Angeles Press Club’s 18th National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards, including Daniel D’Addario and Chris Willman for print journalist of the year. In addition, Ethan Shanfeld has been nominated for online journalist of the year (tied to an organization).

The nominations were spread across a wide range of categories, including criticism, in which co-chief film critic Peter Debruge was nominated for reviews under 1,000 words, as was freelance contributor Siddhant Adlakha. Aramide Tinubu was nominated for TV critic, while D’Addario was nominated for theater/performing arts critic and Jem Aswad was nommed for music critic.

Among a dozen nominations for Variety‘s art department were the cover package for “Taylor Swift fandom” for Jennifer Dorn, Haley Kluge, Richard Maltz and Joe Toreno.

Print nods included Adam B. Vary for “Toxic Fandom: How Hollywood is Battling Fans Who Are Just Out for Blood”; Brent Lang for “Netflix’s Origin Story: How the Streamer Killed Blockbuster Video, Snagged ‘House of Cards’ From HBO and Changed Hollywood Forever” and Tatiana Siegel for “Inside the ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ Debacle: Todd Phillips Wanted ‘Nothing to Do’ With DC on the $200 Million Misfire.”

Recognition in online categories included Michael Schneider for “L.A. Reporters Cover Devastation in Their Own Neighborhoods During Wildfires: ‘Feels Like a Nightmare’ and ‘Fatigue Is Setting In’” and J. Kim Murphy for “‘Juror No. 2’ Could Be Clint Eastwood’s Last Film – So Why Is Warner Bros. Burying It?”
