Filming for ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ is underway in Benaras, and videos from the set have caught the attention of fans online. In an exciting update, a video of actor Pankaj Tripathi, who plays Kaleen Bhaiya, has emerged on social media as crowds gathered to watch the cast at Ramnagar Fort and around the city.
The video features the actor walking towards a black car and later sitting in the same car. The film is scheduled to release in 2026 and will include popular characters from the previous series instalments.
Ali Fazal, who stars as Guddu Pandit, also features in another on-set video, with fans sharing the moment widely.
The film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, with principal filming at sites in Benaras, such as Ramnagar Fort. Besides Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal, the movie stars Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee.
Actor Shweta Tripathi, who plays a prominent role, recently opened up about the excitement among fans for the upcoming film. She said, “The madness of ‘Mirzapur’ is such that fans are constantly posting updates and pictures from our shoots across Benaras. It’s like getting live updates from our extended family! It’s not just the cast and crew anymore; the audience has become a part of our world too.”
Tripathi added, “Behind the scenes, there’s so much love, laughter, and beauty, it’s what keeps me motivated every single day. The family of Prime Video and Excel Entertainment has grown even bigger this time, and it truly feels like one big family now.”
She also spoke about her personal connection to the city, stating, “Benaras, this city keeps calling me back. I’ve been coming here since the time of Masaan. My Nana studied at BHU, my mother wore a Benarasi lehenga for her wedding. Even my trainer, Tridev Pandey, is from here.”
The franchise, since its first part in 2018, has developed a strong connection with its audience, and anticipation for this new film continues to grow.
