Virginia Giuffre’s ghostwritten memoir is due to be published next week—six months after her death—and will shed more light on her account of abuse by Jeffrey Epstein.

Nobody’s Girl is due for publication in the U.S. by Knopf, an imprint of Penguin Random House, on Tuesday and will tell the life story of a woman who helped expose Jeffrey Epstein’s campaign of abuse against young—and in some cases, underage—girls. Giuffre died in April, and her publisher said she “took her own life.”

In 2022, she filed a lawsuit accusing Prince Andrew of rape, saying she was trafficked by Epstein to London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands to have sex with the royal and feared death if she refused. Andrew denied the allegations and settled out of court for an undisclosed sum while denying liability.

Nigel Cawthorne, who wrote an unauthorised biography Virginia Giuffre in 2022, told Newsweek: “I guess that it’s a more poignant story now she is dead. She speaks from beyond the grave.”

Why It Matters

Publicity material for the book says she played a crucial role not only in bringing down Epstein but also his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who was jailed for 20 years in June 2022.

“The world knows Virginia Roberts Giuffre as Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s most outspoken victim,” the publisher’s website reads, “the woman whose decision to speak out helped send both serial abusers to prison, whose photograph with Prince Andrew catalyzed his fall from grace. But her story has never been told in full, in her own words—until now.”

What to Know

This will be Giuffre’s first published memoir, though she wrote another unpublished 139-page manuscript, The Billionaire’s Playboy Club, which was included as evidence in a lawsuit she brought against Maxwell, which was settled in 2017. The text was unsealed for the first time in 2019.

In that respect, some of the most shocking allegations of sexual abuse may have been described by Giuffre before, including in her many interviews, for example, for the 2020 Netflix documentary Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich.

However, there are more recent experiences she has never publicly discussed, for example, her feelings and experiences about the lawsuit she filed against Prince Andrew at civil court in New York. They settled out of court for an undisclosed sum in 2022.

Cawthorne said: “She had already written one autobiography that I riffled when I was writing my biography of her. She entered it as evidence in one of her suits against Ghislaine Maxwell.

“The book will stir up the whole thing again. I would think people will buy it because people didn’t know about her last effort.”

Nobody’s Girl was also written with a ghostwriter, Amy Wallace, and at 400 pages is substantially longer than the first, unpublished book.

What People Are Saying

Author Nigel Cawthorne said he thought Prince Andrew would weather the storm: “It always seems to be water off a duck’s back for Prince Andrew. Whatever happens he hangs on in [his mansion] Royal Lodge and nothing seems to happen.”

Publicity material for the book reads: “In April 2025, Giuffre took her own life. She left behind a memoir written in the years preceding her death and stated unequivocally that she wanted it published.

“This is the powerful story of an ordinary girl who would grow up to confront adversity and trauma of the darkest form, yet found the strength to move forwards, reclaim her voice and shine a light on evil—advocating for others and fighting for a safer, fairer world.

“Nobody’s Girl is a remarkable recounting of one woman’s fortitude in the face of depravity and despair, and the legacy she leaves behind.”

What Happens Next

The book is due out on Tuesday, October 21, published by Knopf and the Penguin Random House website currently lists a price of $35.
