Channing Dungey, who serves as the Chairman/CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks, recently answered what Jason Sudeikis, the star and co-creator of Ted Lasso, had to say about three more seasons of the popular show. Sudeikis developed Ted Lasso along with Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly. The first three seasons debuted on Apple TV+ in August 2020, July 2021, and March 2023. Although it was initially announced that Season 3 would also be the last for the series, the fourth season was officially greenlit in March 2025.

When asked during a new interview with Variety whether Sudeikis had agreed to do three more seasons of Ted Lasso, Dungey responded, “Well, that’s the ambition. So hopefully we get there.”
This comes a few months after Dungey hinted that Ted Lasso could continue beyond the third season. “We’ve heard the pitch for this next season, for Season 4. Is there the opportunity for the story to continue after that? Absolutely. Have I heard a whole three-season pitch? Not yet,” she said in April.
Ted Lasso was one of the flagship shows on Apple TV+ and played a significant role in the platform gaining a solid footing in the highly competitive streaming market. Notably, the show is based on the character Sudeikis depicted in a series of promotional materials for the coverage of the English Premier League on NBC Sports.
As indicated above, Sudeikis returns as the eponymous Ted Lasso in Season 4. The returning cast also includes Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca, Brett Goldstein as Roy, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Juno Temple as Keeley. Additionally, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Grant Feely will also feature in this season.
In the same interview, Dungey teased that Ted Lasso Season could debut on Apple TV+ in mid-2026.
