Some Missouri elementary schoolers got a surprise visit Tuesday from Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.
Witt surprised students Tuesday after partnering with the school through the Royals Literacy League, a program promoting reading and literacy, per Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star.
The visit took place hours before the Royals take on the Cleveland Guardians at 6:40 p.m. ET at Kauffman Stadium.
Witt is heading into his fifth season with Kansas City after All-Star nods in 2024 and 2025. He has batted .281 during the Royals’ 16-19 start to the 2026 campaign.
