Johannesburg-based singer lordkez performed on the popular music platform On The Radar Radio.
The platform, which has 2 million Instagram followers and 1.78 million YouTube subscribers, posted the Aweh-hitmaker’s performance on 14 July.
She performed her song Think Twice, a retro-style R&B track about a complicated relationship.
On The Radar is based in New York City and frequently hosts up-and-coming artists, with performances being invite-only. Some of the more popular artists they have hosted include Drake, Central Cee, Hanumankind, Ice Spice and Nasty C.
The rising star, whose real name is Keziah Zoë Meyers, was born in Kimberley. She previously won in the R&B/Soul Album of the Year category at the 2024 South African Music Awards. This year, she has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the local award show.
In June, she appeared on the online music programme ColorsxStudios, where she sang Wena Fela.
“It was really crazy and surreal! I won’t lie, I was so nervous; it’s intimidating because of the actual setting, everyone is super quiet while you sing because it’s live, so everything is picked up in the room,” the singer told TRUELOVE about her ColorsxStudios performance.
“I cried a little afterwards, on the way back to the hotel, because I was so happy and grateful.”
