WEEK-TV will soon launch a new channel for viewers in Central Illinois.
On Monday, September 29, WEEK-TV will debut a new free, over-the-air channel called MyTeam (MyNetwork). The new station will reside on sister station WHOI-TV channel 19.1.
MyTeam will be a hybrid of news, sports and entertainment programming – including MyNetwork Primetime. It will be the home of state and regional sports programming including IHSA Championship Football and Basketball, Missouri Valley Conference basketball/ArchMadness, the Midwest Matrix Sport Network and other regional professional sports. In addition, 25News Sports Director Jim Mattson will expand his local sports coverage with Jim Mattson’s Overtime, a live sports show that will air every weeknight at 10:30 p.m.
“The interest and demand for local sports programming continues to expand”, Vice President and General Manager Peter Russell of WEEK said. “MyTeam on channel 19 will provide a home base for all of our sports programming on one easy-to-find, free TV channel.”
Other programming joining MyTeam will be 25News at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Previously, both newscasts were only available via the station’s streaming services. Entertainment shows will include the popular Two and a Half Men, The Goldbergs and more. Sports Wrap with Jason Page will provide sports fans with a look at national teams weeknights at 9:30 p.m.
Viewers using a free over-the-air antenna to receive WEEK-TV and WHOI-TV may need to rescan the digital channels on their television. While no interruption is expected, cable and satellite subscribers may need to contact their provider for channel information.
