Queens Of The Stone Age have been forced to cancel their scheduled show in Berlin tomorrow (Thursday October 23), citing organisers’ “inexcusable” poor planning.

Josh Homme and co. had been due to perform at the Theater des Westens in the German capital as part of the current UK and European leg of their intimate ‘Catacombs Tour’.

However, the band shared an update for ticketholders today (Wednesday October 22) to confirm that the gig would no longer be taking place.

“The concert organiser failed to tell us that Theater Des Westens was unable to put on ‘The Catacombs’ show as intended,” they wrote.

“We were surprised by this news at such a late stage making it impossible to relocate the show. Therefore, it is with extreme disappointment that we announce ‘The Catacombs Tour’ performance planned for 23 October has been cancelled.”

QOTSA went on to say that they were “angered, frustrated, and shocked by the decisions made” by the organisers, adding: “The disrespect shown towards you and your valuable time and money that resulted in this action is inexcusable.”

They concluded: “Ticket holders who purchased from the official ticketing partner, Eventim, will be refunded automatically.”

The European run of dates began in Milan last Saturday (October 18), ahead of further stops in Paris and Basel. Queens Of The Stone Age are set to resume the tour in Copenhagen on Friday (October 24).

Next Wednesday (October 29), QOTSA will conclude the UK and European trek with a performance at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London. Find any remaining tickets here.

The band debuted a new song, ‘Easy Street’, and played some rarities as they began their ‘Catacombs Tour’ in the US earlier this month. They later delivered an atmospheric rendition of ‘Running Joke/Paper Machete’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The current run of special, stripped-back gigs follows Queens’ performance at the Parisian Catacombs last summer, which was captured for a recent concert film and live album. In a four-star review of the Alive In The Catacombs movie, NME described the project as a “moving and meditative concert doc”.

Queens Of The Stone Age will support System Of A Down at their two massive headline concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London next summer.

Homme and co. released their eighth and latest studio album, ‘In Times New Roman’, in 2023. This summer, they played two huge gigs in Sheffield as part of Rock N Roll Circus 2025 (and the frontman visited some “Arctic Monkeys landmarks” in the Steel City).

In 2024, Homme vowed to “roll his sleeves up” so that the fans wouldn’t have to wait so long for their next record. There was a six-year gap between 2017’s ‘Villains’ and ‘In Times New Roman’.

In late 2023, Homme and bandmate Dean Fertita spoke to NME about the group, their personal battles and plans for the future.

“I think we should be making something,” Homme explained, some six months on from releasing QOTSA’s most recent LP. “The mantra of the last five years was, ‘It won’t be long now!’ That needs to pertain to making things too. I certainly think we should make more, faster-er, better-er.”
