Kasabian have shared the surprise new single ‘Hippie Sunshine’ to announce a huge London Finsbury Park show for summer 2026, with Razorlight, Miles Kane and more. Check out the song below, along with gig details and our interview with frontman Serge Pizzorno.

Following on from recent single and Sky Sports anthem ‘G.O.A.T’, ‘Hippie Sunshine’ comes as a huge blast of summer euphoria at a time when the season is dying a slow death – but Pizzorno said it was a taster of what’s to come.

“I suppose it’s for next year for this massive show,” the frontman told NME. “I don’t think about it too much, it’s just what came out. I was watching an Adam Curtis documentary about hyper-individuals and I was thinking about escapism and how we are lost in this place where escape seems to be the only answer.”

“It feels like a shame that aren’t finding something to bring us all together and connect us. That’s where that title comes from,” he added.

The singer also said that he took pride in the song’s big melodic shift partway through.

“The Lou Reed/Elton John section, I’m very proud of that,” he admitted. “The DNA of the band is about that – I’ve always loved a little surprise. From a proper glam stomp to a gear change like that is really exciting. On the third or fourth listen you can’t wait for that bit to happen.

“I really wish I hadn’t listened to it so much to get that feeling of listening to it again for the first time. It’s such a sweet experience when you first hear that song. It’s like, ‘Woah, what just happened there?’ I think it will work really well live as well.”

The track is taster of ‘Act III’ – the Leicester indie giants’ ninth album due next year, and following on from 2024’s acclaimed ‘Happenings‘. Asked about what to expect from the record, Pizzorno the lyrics were dealing in “just life, really” and “trying to figure everything out”. As for the sound: “You definitely find us in guitar world”.

“I’ve fallen for my guitar again,” he told NME. “I feel like it’s just giving me riffs every day, it’s beautiful. You’re looking for inspiration in the studio and the guitar is just where I’m at right now. It sets the stall out for a great guitar record.”

Fans will get the chase to experience the new album when the band play the biggest London gig of their career so far to 45,000 people at Finsbury Park on Saturday July 4.

“It’s so exciting. Live now, we’ve got the show into a place where we offer a very unique experience,” said Pizzorno of what to expect. “After so many years, to be announcing our biggest show in London is pretty amazing. We just keep working on this live show and it’s going to be even better next year. I can’t wait, it’s going to be fucking unbelievable.”

He continued: “It’s not that we necessarily have anything production-wise in mind, it’s more about putting on an event – a show that gets burned into people’s minds for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t have anything to with an aesthetic or a light show, it’s more a feeling, a fucking vibe that you go to something that burns into your soul. ‘That night when we were there together’, and a band at full throttle like a juggernaut.

“Tune after tune after tune – relentless energy and bringing London to its knees. You go away thinking, ‘That is a gig that I’ll remember until my dying day’.”

Describing the “beauty of a line-up” that will see them joined by Louis Dunford, Razorlight, Miles Kane, The K’s and SOFY, Pizzorno said: You get bang for your buck, there’s a lot of great music. It’s about pure joy, celebration. There will be a lot of showmanship.”

Looking ahead to all that’s to come, he added: “I’m buzzing, mate. Strap in, this is going to be a wild couple of years.”

Kasabian headline London’s Finsbury Park on Saturday July 4, 2026. An artist pre-sale for tickets begins on Thursday September 25 at 9.30am BST, before going on general sale on Friday September 26 at 9.30am BST. Tickets will be available here.
