Thanksgiving Day is finally here, and besides the pie and turkey, one of the highlights of the day is the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off Thursday, Nov. 27, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and ends at Macy’s flagship store at Herald Square in New York City. This year’s lineup will feature more than 5,000 volunteers, 34 balloons, four balloonicles, 29 floats, 15 specialty units, 33 clown groups, 11 marching bands, performance groups and musical acts, according to Macy’s website.
“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the official kickoff to the holiday season and has been part of the nation’s stories and traditions for generations,” Will Coss, executive producer of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, told NBC. “The most wonderful stories start at the parade.”
