FOND DU LAC – Destination Lake Winnebago Region announced a new event to engage downtown Fond du Lac visitors on four summer nights.
Third Thursdays on Main kicks off June 18 across the downtown area, with more events scheduled for July 16, Aug. 20 and Sept. 17.
During the events, several downtown stores will stay open until 7 p.m. and offer specials for the occasion, and local restaurants will join in on the festivities with their own specials under a backdrop of live music.
Here’s what to know for the first night.
Local stores announce sales and other specials
As June 18 gets closer, Destination Lake Winnebago Region has been listing some of the night’s specials on the Facebook event listing.
So far, activities include an Amazing Race Activity at La Belle FDL, make-your-own flame-painted leaf earrings at Argentum et Aurum, Game Night and Open Knitting/Crocheting starting at 4 p.m. at Knitty Gritty Shop, a game of Plinko for deals with any $5 purchase at Main Street Fashion, build-your-own Char-pooch-erie or Char-cat-erie boards starting at 4 p.m. at Victoria’s Pet Nutrition, and $5 wine tasting and a $35.71 Paint & Sip Class at Cujak’s Wine & Spirits.
Giveaways include Americana Swag Bags starting at 4 p.m. at Bird’s Eye View Optical Inc., a free gift with $50 purchase at Lunar & Lake Book Market, and a free goodie bag with a $25 purchase while supplies last at Dreamcatcher’s Corner.
Additionally, Blue Marble Botanicals will offer 25% off Michael Michaud designer charms, Sumercé Artisans will offer 20% off hand-stitched World Cup keychains, and other deals are announced at Shea Avenue Boutique, THE Dispensary, Limitless Finds, Wellness 360 Spa, Aurora’s Apothecary, Edith’s Formal Wear, VendiCards, and Focus Hobby.
While all listed shops are open until 7 p.m., opening times will vary. A list of all participating businesses is available at fdl.com.
Restaurants list special menus and pricing
Food specials announced so far include the following:
- CC’s Chocolates Cafe: A special menu featuring street tacos and more from 3 to 7 p.m.
- The Coliseum Sports Bar & Grill: $2.50 street tacos and $5 margaritas.
- The Diner: Buy one, get one half off shakes from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Fat Joe’s Burgers and Brew: Free mozzarella sticks with the purchase of two or more meals.
- Theo’s 24: 25% off appetizers and a new feature in the Summer Slider Series.
- Chinatown Kitchen: A free egg roll with orders of more than $25 or a free crab rangoon with orders of more than $35.
Happy hour specials include half-off all drinks from 3 to 7 p.m. at Fat Joe’s and two-for-one drinks from 3 to 6 p.m. at 18 Hands Ale Haus.
Live music and more include THELMA Thursdays act
Third Thursdays on Main lines up with the THELMA Thursdays concert series on the outdoor stage at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, 51 Sheboygan St.
Milwaukee band Listening Party is on the schedule for June 18, with their music rooted in folk, rock and Americana genres. The bar opens at 6 p.m., and music starts at 7 p.m.
Until Dawn will play at Fond du Lac Beer Company during its Biergarten Vendor Fair from 5 to 8 p.m., and more activities in the biergarten include the Cowabunga Grilled Cheese food truck, a kids’ play area, cornhole, ladder ball and more.
The Lonely Sidekick will play 7 to 10 p.m. at 18 Hands Ale Haus.
Live music by Jayden will be featured at Wonder Play Cafe’s Summer Social from 4 to 7 p.m., which also includes $12 coffee flight boards, flatbreads, a craft station for kids, and pop-ups from Airy Point Farms and Small Fry Clothing.
