Holiday concerts may have come and gone, but there is still plenty coming up on the Cheboygan Opera House’s schedule in January and February.
This month, Dale Rieger and other local talent will “chase away the winter blues” with a benefit concert for the Opera House.
The Steves and Stevies, featuring Dale Rieger and Friends, is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16.
The concert, now in its fifth year, will highlight hits from musicians named Steve or Stevie, such as Stevie Nicks or Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Tickets are $10-40, and sales will support children’s programming at the Opera House.
In February, media both new and old will be celebrated.
You can enjoy a 100th anniversary screening of Buster Keaton’s famous silent movie “The General” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1.
Guests are encouraged to don period attire for this unique showing. Tickets are set at special 1926 prices — just 25¢ — and you can pay right at the door on the day of the event.
The film soundtrack will be performed live by Cheboygan pianist George Krawczyk.
Later in February, the Opera House is going to the dogs with “Puppy Pals Live!”
This family-friendly event showcases adopted and rescued dogs performing stunts and tricks. The show is described as “full of surprises and laugh-out-loud canine comedy.”
Tickets are $10-30 and the performance will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21.
