I’ve traveled the world, but Aspen is the one destination I’ve visited more than any other place—and I don’t even ski! There is always a fun event happening and plenty to do indoors and out. What’s new in Aspen
Aspen is gearing up for another winter season, and there are plenty of new openings and fun events coming up. Here are some of the latest openings for the 2025-2026 season.
Getting to Aspen
American Airlines will launch a new seasonal service between Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), and Aspen, Colorado (ASE) beginning Dec. 19, 2025. American Airlines also offers direct flights to Aspen from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Chicago/O’Hare (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), and Austin (AUS). Here are some tips about visiting Aspen if it’s your first time.

First up, White Elephant Aspen, the highly anticipated luxury boutique hotel, is set to open its doors in the heart of downtown this February. Hotel Jerome just unveiled refreshed guest rooms featuring subtle updates to furniture and artwork. Guests can also book the new Hotel Jerome Après-Tea experience in the Garden Room, featuring high tea, caviar service, and premium champagne offerings.
New restaurants in Aspen
On the culinary front, Petit Trois, Chef Ludo Lefebvre’s beloved LA bistro, will debut inside Mollie Aspen this December. The hotel recently opened the Naturopathica Spa, perfect for post-ski recovery. Yuki Aspen, a new concept from Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened this past summer, along with Silvers, the new local favorite for bagels, breakfast bites, and sandwiches.

Cultural openings in Aspen
Aspen’s cultural scene is also getting a major upgrade with the Paul JAS Center, officially opening December 19th above the iconic Red Onion. The intimate venue will host live jazz, blues, and soul performances for up to 175 guests. On the slopes, Aspen Snowmass is debuting two lift upgrades—the Elk Camp Six-Pack and Cirque T-Bar—just in time for ski season.

Aspen events this winter season
As always, Aspen delivers a solid lineup of events for the season. Kicking things off is Aspen Snow Polo on December 17-18 at Rio Grande Park. Come dressed to impress in your best winter outfit. Wintersköl‘s annual “toast to winter” is celebrating 74 years this Dec. 11-14, 2025 with mountain activities, snow sculptures, a soup contest, a beer festival, live music, a bonfire, a torchlight descent, and fireworks on Aspen Mountain. The X Games returns January 23–25, and music fans can keep the energy going as Palm Tree Festival brings Kygo and Calvin Harris to the mountains Feb 20-21. Watch snowboarders shred the slopes at Aspen Snow League, which kicks off February 27–28, 2026. Keep an eye out for the calendar of events for the iconic music venue, Belly Up, which will also feature an impressive lineup of talent all season long, including Diplo, Alesso, and Sofi Tukker.
