The New Year is quickly approaching, and if that realization hits hard, end-of-year highlights such as Spotify Wrapped may help soften the blow.
Over the years, Spotify Wrapped has become a cultural phenomenon and a fun way for users to share what songs and artists have been their favorite during the year. Spotify, in a news release for 2024’s Wrapped, described it as a “celebration of the fans, artists, and creators who made this such an amazing year.”
The Swedish music streaming company said the feature gives fans the opportunity “to indulge in what they love, from showing them how their taste in music evolved throughout the year to special messages from their favorite artists and podcasters.”

When will Spotify Wrapped be released in 2025?
Spotify has yet to announce when 2025 Wrapped will drop and has not made any announcement regarding it on social media, but in previous years, it has dropped in late November or early December. A representative for the streaming service told USA TODAY on Nov. 3 they did not have any additional information to offer on 2025 Wrapped.

What is Spotify Wrapped?
Spotify Wrapped first rolled out in 2015 as “Spotify Year in Music” and rebranded to Wrapped in 2016. It is an annual campaign that combines a Spotify user’s listening data into an interactive display of the user’s most-listened-to music. Users are usually alerted about their Spotify Wrapped with a pop-up when they open the Spotify app.
Typically, Spotify Wrapped displays a user’s top songs, artists and genres. Users are encouraged to share their Spotify Wrapped on social media.
User data is collected from Jan. 1 through the fall of that same year to produce a user’s Spotify Wrapped.
When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking?
Considering Spotify Wrapped is released ahead of Dec. 31, users wonder when the streamer stops tracking their listening habits for the year.
Though Spotify hasn’t announced what date it will stop tracking listener data for Wrapped this year, the streaming service has said it continues to track user data for Wrapped beyond Oct. 31, contrary to social media posts claiming it stopped on Halloween.
While the exact date and timeline are not known, senior director of product for personalization at Spotify Molly Holder told Mashable in 2024, the streamer tries to include as much time as possible to track listening habits.
“We start at the beginning of January with all of your listening that begins right then at the beginning of the year, and it goes all the way through collecting data up until a few weeks before we launch the Wrapped product,” Holder told the media outlet.

If Spotify sticks to the same process as years past, users will be able to see the results of their Wrapped for the year once it releases. Just make sure your app is updated.
