The second season of With Love, Meghan premiered just in time for fall. However, while some of the wardrobe choices hint at sweater weather, many of the episodes don’t necessarily point toward an intentionally autumnal, or even late summer, release. And when the seasons run together in sunny Southern California, it can be difficult to tell when something was filmed precisely. So some viewers are wondering, when exactly was this filmed?
Here’s what we can discern about when season two of When Love, Meghan was filmed:
What Netflix has confirmed
Within days of the series premiere Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan, Netflix confirmed on March 7 that the show would be coming back for a second season. Meghan shared the news on her Instagram page, along with a video clip and the caption, “Oh, how I love ASMR! If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2!”
Netflix also announced at the time that filming for season two had already been completed, with an anticipated release date for later in 2025. (Netflix later followed up with a premiere date of August 26.)

Like in season one, Meghan has a great wardrobe to choose from in season two, with almost a new outfit in each scene. However, many of the clothes—like this striped Carolina Herrera shirtdress, another Carolina Herrera floral midi dress, or this black and white Veronica Beard sundress—are already sold out and have not restocked for months.
Additionally, in episode seven, Meghan packs a baseball hat that says “PH40.” Meghan tells viewers that she had these baseball caps made these for her husband’s 40th birthday for him and his friends. Harry turned 40 on September 15, 2024, so part of the show, or at least that episode, was filmed after that.

The last clue, which is quite a tragic one, is the presence of Meghan’s beloved beagle Guy, who is seen in his dog bed in the kitchen in a few episodes. Sadly, Guy passed away, and Meghan shared a sweet tribute to him on Instagram in January.
With all those clues in mind, it’s most likely the show was filmed during the last few months of 2024.
Other factors to consider
It’s also worth noting that it is becoming more common for unscripted shows to deliver multiple seasons per year thanks to lower production costs and achieving a higher chance at consistent audience appeal. Netflix has also been increasingly splitting up seasons of its most popular shows to maintain audience interest, although more so with scripted shows like Bridgerton and Emily in Paris, and those are still considered to be the same season rather than two different seasons.
With Love, Meghan is Prince Harry and Meghan’s fifth project with Netflix. In early August, Netflix and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they will be continuing to work with each other in a new multi-year “first look” deal, but it’s still unclear if the streamer will renew the show for another season or not. It’s also unknown if there are any more already filmed episodes in the pipeline, beyond a holiday special coming this winter.
Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions is also busy with a few other projects for Netflix, including Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary about an orphanage in Uganda that will debut later this year, and a film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel, Meet Me At The Lake.
