Fans of the award-winning reality competition series, The Traitors, have been looking forward to the celebrity edition for quite some time. Now, the time has come and Celebrity Traitors will be kicking off sooner than we think.
The BBC announced the start date of the series following the Strictly Come Dancing launch on September, 20. Not only that, but they also gave us a first peek at the contestants gathered around the Round Table. They were accompanied by host Claudia Winkleman who informs them that their ‘glamorous lives count for nothing here’ and that ‘most of you will be murdered’.

When does Celebrity Traitors begin and when will new episodes be released?
The BBC is making a few minor adjustments for the inaugural celebrity edition of The Traitors. However, it’s certainly not all doom and gloom for viewers as the first episode will be slightly extended.
The Celebrity Traitors will debut on Wednesday, October 8 at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer with a 70-minute episode.
Episodes will be broadcast two nights a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, at 9pm.
This differs from the usual version which would normally air three times a week.
The series is set to comprise nine episodes, each lasting 60 minutes. This means we can anticipate the finale airing on November 5.
Who’s participating in Celebrity Traitors?
Over a dozen well-known personalities have been confirmed as part of the Celebrity Traitors line-up so far.
We’re still waiting to discover which of the 19 will be Faithful, and how many will earn the title of Traitors. However, fans of the show seem to think they’ve worked it out already.
Participants hail from various fields including comedy, film, television, music, sport and more.
They’ll be competing to win up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Traitors Uncloaked
For those who can’t get enough of The Traitors, the show’s companion video podcast is also making a comeback for the celebrity edition. Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will air on BBC Two immediately following the main series and will also be accessible on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.
Host Ed Gamble is back to present and will be joined by celebrities and players from previous series to dissect and respond to developments in the castle.
When is The Traitors returning?
The BBC has confirmed that the fourth series of the regular Traitors series is due sometime in 2026. Not only this, but a fifth series is also in the pipeline and applications for participants are currently open. You can read more about how to apply for the new series here.
