St. Helens will be kicking off its annual Spirit of Halloweentown celebration on Sept. 27 with its traditional pumpkin lighting ceremony.
The small Oregon town was once the backdrop of the Disney film “Halloweentown,” and still celebrates every year with the original set pieces and special celebrity guests.

What is ‘Halloweentown?’
“Halloweentown” is a Disney movie that premiered on the Disney Channel in 1998.
The film centers around three siblings— Marnie Piper (played by Kimberly J. Brown), Dylan Piper (played by Joey Zimmerman), and Sophie Piper (played by Emily Roeske) —who find out they come from a line of witches from Halloweentown.
The children set off to connect with their grandmother (played by Debbie Reynolds) while investigating some strange things happening in Halloweentown, taking them on a journey to find a way to save the town.
When is Spirit of Halloweentown in St. Helens?
Spirit of Halloweentown begins with the traditional lighting of the town’s giant pumpkin sculpture.
The pumpkin lighting ceremony will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 in the town square at 4N1W 4BC Road in St. Helens.
Spirit of Halloweentown is celebrated during the last weekend in September and every weekend in October. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday beginning Sept. 27 through Oct. 26 and is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 31.

How to get tickets to Spirit of Halloweentown
Guests can walk through and visit the vendors of Spirit of Halloweentown for free, but some special events and attractions require a ticket.
Online ticket prices are $40 for ages 13 years and older; $20 for children 12 years and younger; and free for children 5 years and younger. Ticket prices include admission to all activities and attractions.
Celebrity photo opportunities with the original “Halloweentown” cast must be purchased separately and begin at $85.
Tickets for the haunted house are included in the admission price or can be purchased separately for $15 for non-ticket holders.
