Viewers who had The Good Place on their Netflix watchlist might be running out of time to watch it. According to reports, the quirky comedy series is set to leave the streaming platform soon.

Here are the details on why and when The Good Place is leaving Netflix.

Why is The Good Place leaving Netflix and when?

The Good Place is leaving Netflix on September 25, 2025.

Created by Michael Schur, The Good Place stars Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, D’Arcy Carden, Manny Jacinto, and Ted Danson in the lead roles. The show is centered on the afterlife, where people are either sent to The Good Place or The Bad Place based on their actions while they were alive. With plenty of twists and turns, the show offers an incredible time for feel-good and light-hearted comedies.

The decision to leave the streaming giant comes after the lack of a licensing agreement between Netflix and NBCUniversal, the company with the rights to the show. This change mainly affects Netflix’s US subscribers, who have until midnight on September 25 to stream it. Viewers outside of the US can continue streaming the show until September 26, 2026.

Currently, there is no confirmation on where the show will find its home after leaving Netflix. However, since NBCUniversal has its own streaming platform, Peacock, it is most likely that the viewers can stream the show there. This is also subject to NBCUniversal renewing its licensing agreement in the coming weeks. But at the moment, it is uncertain whether the company is going to do that.

The show ran for four seasons and completed the story arc as set out by the creator. It received praise from both critics and viewers, earning 12 Primetime Emmy nominations.
