The rumors about Taylor Swift’s wedding continue to be everywhere. The singer and her soon-to-be-husband, Travis Kelce, are reportedly tying the knot in July in New York City, but a wedding venue hasn’t been confirmed. And considering it’s Taylor Swift, everything is on the table. It’s not like there’s anywhere she can’t afford or can’t get. But still, the latest reports that the wedding will take place at Madison Square Garden are giving people some pause.
Sure, guests still reportedly don’t know where the wedding will take place, so MSG is in the realm of possibility, but those close to the singer say it’s not very in character to pick such a venue.

“This doesn’t sound like Taylor,” one source told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter. “It sounds like something the Kardashians would do.”
And with such a venue, it’ll be impossible to avoid the attention, and the security concerns will rise. And though yes, Swift has always allowed her personal life and her work life to mix, this feels like it’s taking it to a level those who know her don’t buy.
“Taylor has always used her personal life in her work,” a source explained. “The songs, the Easter eggs, the social media posts—that’s part of her brand. But that’s very different from getting married at one of the most famous venues in the world.”
Because that’s big. And loud. “A wedding at Madison Square Garden feels like a production,” the source said. “Not a wedding.”
And insiders even had jokes. “Are they selling tickets?” one insider quipped. “Is there a Ticketmaster partnership? A livestream? That’s why people aren’t buying it.”
So, if people don’t believe it, what do they think is happening? “Most people I know think it’s a decoy,” one source explained. “The theory is guests will be told to meet at MSG, then they’re put on buses and taken somewhere else.”
That would, actually, be very on brand for Swift. Nothing is ever as it seems.
“Something is definitely being hidden,” the source said.
A June 5 report from In Touch claimed that the pop star and NFL player are set to say “I do” at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The wedding is reportedly scheduled for the July 4th weekend.
Reportedly, no one really knows where the wedding is taking place. A source told the Daily Mail in May that Swift “wants to avoid anything leaking ahead of time, which is why there are no physical save-the-dates being sent out.”
“She’s also sharing slightly different details with different guests,” they added. “That way, if any information does surface publicly, it could help identify where the leak came from.”
If any of her friends had Madison Square Garden as the wedding venue, well, at least now Swift knows who she can trust and who she cannot. And we will have to wait to see if the wedding does end up taking place there or not.
