White House reporter has viral reaction to Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce engagement 

She needs to calm down.

CBS News reporter Olivia Rinaldi had a viral reaction to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement news on live television on Tuesday.

While broadcasting outside the White House, Rinaldi was left utterly shocked when she found out about the proposal while scrolling on her cell phone.

“Taylor Swift is engaged… Taylor Swift is engaged!” Rinaldi exclaimed as she waved her phone at the camera.

“Come back to me,” the journalist added, as she gushed over Swift’s “ginormous” engagement ring.

Rinaldi then joked: “I feel like Paul Revere right now.”

“This is a very important moment for me in my professional career. Because I get to announce that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged,” Rinaldi added, as her co-anchor laughed off-camera.

Later on, Rinaldi threw her hat in the ring to work on the couple’s wedding day.

“I volunteer to cover it, in case you need,” she told her co-anchor. “I’ll be there to cover it. Just saying.”

The video of Rinaldi’s reaction went viral including on TikTok, where it has over 6 million views.

Meanwhile, a fan commented, “LET HER COVER THE WEDDING!”

Swift, 35, and Kelce, 35, made headlines Tuesday when they announced their engagement after two years of dating.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the pop star captioned her Instagram post.

Page Six sources claimed that the proposal happened “a couple of weeks” before the Aug. 26 announcement.

Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, spilled more about the proposal, which he also confirmed happened several weeks ago, in an interview with ABC 5 Cleveland.

“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed, 74, shared.

Ed also revealed that Swift had started to get “antsy” over the proposal.

“He was going to put it off till this week,” Ed explained. “I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.”

Swift and Kelce have been together since the summer of 2023, after the football player divulged on his “New Heights” podcast that he’d attempted to meet the Grammy winner on her Eras Tour.

They confirmed their relationship when Swift went to her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24, 2023.
