Here’s a list of SNL cast members who will be leaving the show ahead of Season 51:
Devon Walker
Popular comedian Devon Walker announced his exit from Saturday Night Live in an Instagram post on Monday, August 25. He penned a farewell note expressing his gratitude towards his fellow castmates.
“Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell. But we did what we made the most of what it was, even amidst all the dysfunction,” Walker wrote. “More than anything, I’m just really happy I got to do it with Gary and Alex,” he added.
In an Instagram story accompanying the announcement of his exit, Walker clarified, “Just to be clear, this is good news!! It was just time for me to do something different.”
As a rising talent in stand-up comedy, Walker joined the NBC sketch comedy series in 2022 in its 48th season. He became a notable face in the show thanks to his hilarious celebrity impressions of ABC host Michael Strahan, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, and more.
Rosebud Baker
Another SNL cast member who has confirmed her exit is Rosebud Baker. During a recent appearance on the Saturday Night Network podcast, the comedian announced that she is leaving the show.
Baker had previously opened up to former SNL cast members David Spade and Dana Carvey about the stressful work environment in the show. Speaking on their podcast, Fly on the Wall, Baker revealed, “It’s like training yourself to be a sociopath or a psychopath. You just read these horrible, horrific headlines and you’re like, what’s funny [or] hilarious about this?”
Baker joined Saturday Night Live in February 2022 and has been working for the “Weekend Update” segment. She will not be returning for the show’s 51st season.
Celeste Yim
Yim, who worked as a writer for Saturday Night Live, recently announced their exit as well. In an Instagram post on August 25, Yim wrote, “After five seasons, I’m leaving my job at Saturday Night Live. Lorne hired me over the phone when I was 23, and the job literally made all of my dreams come true, BUT it was also grueling, and I slept in my office every week.”
They concluded by thanking all SNL assistant and production crew members for their support, with a special shoutout to fellow cast member Bowen Yang. “Thank you, Bowen, for changing my life and for making me feel normal,” they penned.
