Manosphere influencer Andrew Tate has made headlines through the years for his controversial opinions.
Andrew rose to fame as a contestant on the U.K. version of Big Brother before building an online following within the so-called “men’s rights” online space, becoming a prominent force within the right-wing conservative online movement by building an anti-feminist, anti-women’s rights agenda. In an interview with a YouTuber, Andrew publicly confirmed that he was “absolutely a misogynist.”
“I’m a realist and when you’re a realist, you’re sexist,” he said, per BBC News. “There’s no way you can be rooted in reality and not be sexist.”

Andrew Was Named After His Father
Tate, whose full name is Emory Andrew Tate, was named after his father — an American who worked for the U.S. Air Force in Britain. Tate’s parents met in the U.K. before moving to the United States, where the influencer resided until his parents’ split. He then moved to England with his mother.

Andrew was first widely known as a kickboxer before gaining a following on the U.K.’s Big Brother. He was a kickboxing world champion four times.
Andrew Tate Has Faced Multiple Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking Allegations
Andrew and his brother, Tristan Tate, have both previously faced multiple accusations of sexual assault and human trafficking. They have denied the allegations.
“We live in a democratic society where it’s innocent until proven guilty, and I think my brother and I are largely misunderstood,” Andrew told reporters in February 2025. “There’s a lot of opinions about us, a lot of things that got around about us on the internet. We’ve yet to be convicted of any crime in our lives ever.”
Andrew Tate Was Again in 2026
Andrew and Tristan were arrested in Miami in July 2026 after the U.K. government filed new rape and sex trafficking charges against them.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offenses including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses relating to indecent images of a child,” Malcolm McHaffie, head of the U.K. Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), announced at the time. “These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.”
Andrew now faces “seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm,” per the CPS. He has also been cited for 19 additional alleged offenses involving indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Tristan, meanwhile, faces additional charges including one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The incidents allegedly occurred between July 2010 and August 2017 in London. The Tates’ attorney, Joe McBride, said that the Tates have denied any wrongdoing.
“They’re pulling out all the stops to make sure these guys never get their day in court,” McBride told the Associated Press. “We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free.
