Beyoncé’s 2016 album, Lemonade, celebrated its 10th anniversary on April 23, and the singer continued honoring the work with a new look that had a subtle connection to the project.
Earlier today, the singer shared a series of photos to Instagram that featured her wearing a dramatic purple oversize Saint Laurent gown from its spring/summer 2026 collection. The dress was decorated with puffed sleeves and ruffles.
Beyoncé accessorized with a pearl Cult Gaia bag, black sunglasses, and a diamond and pearl choker necklace.
An eagle-eyed fan on TikTok noticed that one of her post’s photos looks very similar to the still from her “Hold Up” music video where she places one foot down a step:
The fan theorized that this could be a hint that Beyoncé’s upcoming album Act III could also be a visual album like Lemonade.
Fans also noticed the resemblance between Beyoncé’s purple Saint Laurent dress and the bright yellow Roberto Cavalli gown she wore in “Hold Up.” They pointed out that she wore Saint Laurent in that video too, pairing the yellow dress with black polka-dotted platform heels from the house.
Originally, Beyoncé was supposed to wear a different dress, stylist B. Akerlund explained in a 2016 interview with Billboard.
“We had another outfit already chosen [to wear], and then that yellow Roberto Cavalli dress showed up a day late because it was right off the runway [from fall 2016 collection],” Akerlund recalled. “We weren’t feeling the other dress, and we put on the Cavalli and in that moment knew it was the ultimate vision of what that video needed to be.”
“Everything from that it was flowing to it was see-through to it had all these different shapes and was still sexy…the dress had it all,” the stylist added. “Ultimately, the yellow dress is what makes it [the video] iconic and memorable and stands out.”
