Billie Eilish plans on embracing her natural beauty as she ages, and will forgo getting any cosmetic work done to her face, as she revealed during the May 5 episode of the Good Hang With Amy Poehler podcast.
“I am so excited to age, and I’m so excited for my face to age and my body to age and not change it, you know? And I want my kids to look at me and have my face look like their face and not be some botched version of whatever the fuck is going on out there right now,” the “Birds of a Feather” singer told the Parks and Recreation star.
Eilish also reflected on her teenage self in the interview and noted that she didn’t think her personality would evolve past her teen years—a thought that she later learned would become false as she aged. “I never thought I would not be a teenager,” she told Poehler. “I remember when I was 17, I was like, ‘Okay, I am the person I’ll be forever right now.’ And that’s not how it works, obviously.”
Eilish has previously opened up about her stance on cosmetic procedures, previously telling The Guardian in 2021 that “it’s completely fine to get work done—do this, do that, do what makes you feel happy,” she said.
The pop star’s issue with people who get cosmetic surgery is their tendency to lie about it. “It’s just when you deny it and say, ‘Oh, I got this all on my own, and if you just tried harder, you could get it.’ That makes me literally furious,” she added. “It is so bad for young women—and boys, too—to see that.”
Eilish also explained to The Guardian that it’s exhausting attempting to fit into societal standards. “If you’re always standing a certain way, walking in a certain way, and always have your hair just so… It’s such a loss to always try to always look good,” she added. “It’s such a loss of joy and freedom in your body.”
