Elizabeth Olsen recently opened up about working with MCU co-star Josh Brolin. The pair played Scarlet Witch and Thanos, respectively, in the superhero franchise. They became sworn enemies after the latter killed the former’s love interest, Vision. However, before joining the MCU, the pair worked together on Spike Lee’s Oldboy, a remake of Park Chan-wook’s 2003 film of the same name.

On the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy Kimmel reminded Elizabeth Olsen how her Scarlet Witch helped kill Josh Brolin’s Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. The former jokingly asked the latter if she had apologized to Brolin for the same and if he had forgiven her.
“I bet he’s very upset to have left the Marvel universe,” the Love & Death star quipped. Kimmel joked that Brolin stormed out, saying that he saw him being angry.
Olsen jokingly suggested that Brolin would like to return to the MCU. She then told Kimmel that she and the Dune actor knew each other for a long time as they worked together on Spike Lee’s Oldboy.
Kimmel called Brolin “a good man” and asked Olsen if she saw the actor’s body. “I have actually, because we had sex in Spike Lee’s movie,” the latter replied before laughing along with Kimmel and the audience.
Notably, Brolin is one of Olsen’s three MCU co-stars who appeared with her in the film. Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, and Pom Klementieff, who plays Guardians of the Galaxy’s Mantis, are the other two actors who starred in the neo-noir action thriller.
In Oldboy, Brolin plays Joe Doucett, who hunts down the people responsible for kidnapping and imprisoning him in a hotel room for 20 years. Meanwhile, Olsen essays Marie Sebastian, who grows close to Doucett and has sex with him at one point in the film. However, Marie is later revealed to be Joe’s long-lost daughter. The revelation horrifies Joe, as he unknowingly committed incest. He ultimately severs contact with Marie, but gives her a majority of the diamonds he had acquired in the film.
