On Sunday, Taylor Swift was not at Travis Kelce’s second game of the NFL season, when his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game was held at Arrowhead, the Chiefs’ home stadium. Swift often attends Kelce’s games there because of her comfort with the location. In October 2024, a source told to Page Six that she can’t always securely attend Kelce’s away games.
“If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns,” the insider explained. “She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”
There’s no immediate reason why Swift was not present, but her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set to be released next month. She and Kelce traveled a bit before he returned to camp to train for the new NFL season. It may be that she has obligations elsewhere and it has even been rumored Swift is planning a new tour.
Just before Kelce took the field today, his FOX NFL Sunday interview with Erin Andrews was released. In it, he shared a bit about his proposal to Swift. The couple announced their engagement on August 26.
“How rattled did you get when you proposed?” Andrews asked.
“The palms were definitely sweating,” Kelce laughed. “I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there. It’s been an exciting ride up to this date, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Last weekend, Swift did not attend the Chiefs Week 1 in São Paulo, Brazil, as they played against the Los Angeles Chargers. The NFL has been working towards an international expansion and they have planned several games abroad this season. According to TMZ, the Eras Tour star didn’t make it because it was ultimately a really short trip with no down time for players to enjoy time with wives or girlfriends—or fiancées.
