Netflix has renewed the sitcom Leanne, which premiered on July 31, 2025, for Season 2. The sitcom, which features Leanne Morgan, Kristen Johnston, Tim Daly, Celia Weston, Ryan Stiles, and more, was well-received by audiences on the platform. On Rotten Tomatoes, Leanne has earned a solid score of 71 percent.
Leanne renewed for Season 2 on Netflix
Leanne is slated to come back for Season 2 soon. After the sitcom was renewed by Netflix, the star of the show, Leanne Morgan, expressed her happiness with the decision.
She said, “We’re coming back for a second season! I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast, and especially for all the fans of the show. Y’all did this for us, and we can’t wait to be back!”
Co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre also chimed in to share his thoughts on the renewal and told Netflix, “Much thanks and gratitude to Netflix for this amazing opportunity. Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being, and an absolute joy to work with.” Following its release, the 16-episode first season went on to enter the Global Top 10 chart on Netflix.
Morgan recently spoke to ComingSoon about balancing comedy and emotional moments in the sitcom. She conveyed, “It was hard. And so I just had to, in my mind, think how would I really feel if this happened to me. If my real husband did this to me… I feel like the writers got every bit of how a woman would really feel. How her sister would help her through, how her little mom and daddy would take it, how her children would take it. I mean, there’s balance in the comedy, and I think we’ve got both.”
