Matthew Knowles Teases New Destiny’s Child Remixes Featuring Unreleased Music

Foreigner fans may have new music to look forward to as bassist Jeff Pilson revealed that the legendary rock band is currently working on several projects, including brand-new songs and previously unfinished recordings from the band’s archives.

During an interview, Pilson shared that Foreigner has multiple batches of material in development, although the band is taking its time to ensure every release meets its high standards.

Foreigner Is Working on Multiple New Music Projects

When asked whether fans could expect new Foreigner music in the near future, Pilson confirmed that the band has several projects underway.

“We are working on totally brand new songs, which are… The standard’s very high, so we’re working very hard to make sure that those are all up to that standard. But yes, there’s several new songs that we’re working on from scratch,” the bassist explained.

Pilson also revealed that the band has unreleased songs and had been searching through old files and studio tracks from previous albums and finding songs that were never completed. “There’s unfinished songs or unreleased or unrecorded songs that Mick [Jones] and Lou [Gramm] wrote years ago that they have asked us to look at. So we’re looking at those. There’s some really good ones in there. And then — here’s the other thing that’s really cool. We have found unfinished songs in the files and tracks that we got from all the older albums.”

One example came from the sessions surrounding the band’s classic 1981 album 4. During the album’s reissue process, the group discovered an unfinished track called “Fool If You Love Him.”

The song featured original vocalist Gramm on vocals but was missing additional lyrics. The band reached out to Gramm, who agreed to return and complete the track.

Pilson described the experience as creating “new old” Foreigner music.

A Special Surprise From the ‘Head Games’ Era

Foreigner has also uncovered unreleased material from the sessions for the band’s 1979 album Head Games. Pilson revealed that one unfinished track had everything in place—including Gramm’s vocals and background vocals—but was missing a guitar solo.

The band decided to bring in legendary guitarist Peter Frampton, a close friend of Jones, to add the missing piece. “So we called Peter. Peter said, ‘I’d love to put a guitar solo on it.’ So he put a great solo on. It’s a song called ‘Trouble’. It came out fantastic. And so that’s another example of things that we’re doing, where we’re finding stuff from the older records.”

New Music Will Be Released Carefully

While fans may be eager for a full-length new Foreigner album, Pilson explained that the modern music industry has changed the way artists release material.

“It’s about quality, certainly not quantity,” Pilson explained, noting that the band wants to release the right song at the right moment. “So it’s really more about a song at a time. And so with regards to brand-new material, we’re gonna just take it very slow and make sure that we have the right song for the right moment, and that’s when we’ll put it out.”
